AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM: Ages 5-13
Need To Burn Excess Energy, Get Your Kids Moving, While Simultaneously Teaching Valuable Skills and Developing Motor Movements? We've Got You Covered!
Developing Gross Motor Skills
Running (in different directions and at various speeds), jumping (over hurdles and cones in different directions), throwing, climbing, kicking, throwing to targets and other kids, shooting, swinging, catching and passing are all intentionally practiced.
Developing Fine Motor Skills
Picking up various small objects, stacking large Legos or blocks, gripping a bat or ball, lots of high fives, playing tag and flag pulling all encourage the development of fine motor skills.
4 Classes Every Day
A typical class with this age group will last 30-45 minutes. We always start with warm up drills, transition into stretches and end with a game and cool down (and stamps for the good listeners).
Game Builders And Breakers
This is a great structured game to get kids running, changing directions, developing hand-eye coordination AND developing teamwork and strategy. Kids are setup into 2 teams, one team are builders the other breakers. We set up tall triangle cones all over the playing field; builders will put the cones up while the breakers knock them down. When time runs out, standing cones are counted as the score; then the team switch roles!
